The existing urban space of the ‘Nieuwe Markt’ is literally sublimated into an architectural object. The weak form of the object fits perfectly to the existing spatial structure of the open space. Its architectural specificity emphasizes existing directions and spatial dynamics; it transforms urban space and redefines its spatial meaning on different scales.

The architectural design is essentially contextual; it redefines the spatial and programmatical context from within.
