UNKNOWN SPACE 01
The project concerns the conversion of a small monumental office with a beautiful garden.
The basal area of the existing building materializes into a concrete architectural object. It rises up to the roof to accommodate stairs, toilet and kitchen and spatially structures the different floors of the building. It stretches out into the quiet and beautiful garden inside the urban block and offers a place to sit in the sun in order to establish a specific architectural relation inside out (and vice-versa). This enclosed exterior ‘open-plan office’ confronts the unknown space of the garden with the urban space of the street through a large, receded hole in the facade that also offers a place to enter.
