SYNTHETIC VERNACULAR
The client wished to replace an existing crumbling barn for a new one, which should accommodate his classic wooden sailing boat in wintertime.
The project proposes an identical copy of the existing barn, but made out of translucent fibreglass reinforced polyester instead of wood. At day the new barn offers excellent daylight conditions for working on the boat. At night, when the lights are on, it reveals the contour of its contents, while appearing as the luminous ghost of the old barn.
